Heya Jan,
I know the feeling of being restricted. Hopefully over the next few years virtualisation will become so flawless it will be second nature to have a VM running for such software that can not be run on both.

Hehe we will keep our fingers crossed.

Hey Stuart,

oh how I want my Precision M60 back! It was the best laptop Dell ever had. True performance combined with a long lasting case (and great speakers ...).

Unfortunately a CAD software requires us to run true Windows laptops. At home I enjoy the flawless working Macbook Pro.

Hi Jan,
I have to say I know I certainly experienced a lot of what you did with my laptop as well. In fact after so many component replacements parts of the chassis no longer clipped together correctly (and I couldn't be bothered getting them out to fix it).

The speakers were SHOCKING werent they (if I remember correctly there was only one, the other side of the keyboard is just designed to look like there is a speaker there :D).

Oh and I am now the happy owner of a shiny new Macbook Pro, it had some teething issues but now is a solid BRICK SH*THOUSE of a laptop, I would happily recommend the switch.

Hi Stuart,

we have 5 laptops M4400 in our dept. and they all overheat! It is a design flaw!
This machine creates huge trouble for us and we are very frustrated.
Besides the temperature issue, the case is so fragile. If you travel and/or use it as a laptop (carry around) it won't last long. We have several broken plastic parts, worn out hinges, speaker surface cover peels off etc ... it's a shame for a laptop that's so expensive.
The fact that the speakers wound worse than on my 50 dollar cell phone is the icing on the cake.

Our solution: we're done with DELL. Sorry.

Best
Jan

Well everyone I just got this email from a lovely manager at Dell confirming our conversation we just had:

Hi Stuart,
As discussed, I have asked our customer care team to process a refund for the original purchase price of the machine.

Thanks
<Omitted>

I have to say I am stoked with the outcome, new laptop will be on order later this evening and delivered in 5 working days.

Hi Scott,
Thanks so much and thank you for the speedy response. I will keep everyone here posted with how it all progresses, it is only fair that when I have a gripe I post the good with the bad so thank you for a speedy response.

Hi Eddie,

And thanks so much for the free month :D Look forward to it.

In regards to the dial in not working the 09XX number is an account number not a DID (Direct In Dial) number, depending on the plan you subscribed to you if you log into your MyNetFone account page you should be able to get the DID number from there or add one if it has not yet been set up, that will give you the number to dial in with.

If you have any issues post here and I will drop you an email :D

Stuart

Got it working at last - just changed the modem cable. So, please disregards previous email.

Only issue now is for me to call the VOIP fone which I am not able to do so but I can call out. Strange.

Cheers
